SAN FRANCISCO, California – Fastly, one of the worlds largest cloud infrastructure platforms, experienced an outage that took down large websites like Amazon, Twitch, Reddit and many others. Unfortunately it did not affect the streaming of sim racing championships. “It happened via a bug when a customer changed a setting,” said a Fastly spokesman, “We apologize to Amazon, Twitch, Reddit, the New York Times, and many others who were affected.”

“We would also like to apologize to everyone else that still had the opportunity to watch a sim racing championship being broadcast. It’s unfortunate that you couldn’t shop on Amazon, but could still see 30 grown men in their mom’s basements go around in fake cars on a fake race track. Fastly is deeply sorry about that, it won’t happen again and we’ll make sure our outages affect sim racing first.”
