EGYPT – With the massive Evergreen ship still stuck at the Suez Canal, goods are starting to see massive logistical delays. One area drastically hit is the sports car racing industry with all good ideas currently stuck in a single container. “It’s really frustrating,” said John Doonan, President of IMSA, “Just a few days ago, I ruled to get rid of LMP2 from our Belle Isle round and added two GTLM Corvettes as a non-championship round. It’s getting bad. I know that’s not good, but I honestly need this shipment of good sports car racing ideas to come in.”

IMSA isn’t the only series hurting right now as the SRO recently announced points penalties could be applied to teams who miss a testing weekend that had been rescheduled and clashed with another series.
