BRASELTON, Georgia – In a massive IMSA Presidential scandal, it is being reported that John Doonan, newly named IMSA President, is receiving bribes and kickbacks from Mazda, his former employer. Eyebrows started being raised when IMSA joined forces with the SCCA, which Mazda is a big supporter of, but more noise was made after the Mazda Global MX-5 Cup was announced as a 2021 IMSA-sanctioned Support Series.
An anonymous Mazda whistleblower said, “We all know, Mazda is sending funds Doonan’s way. First with the SCCA acting as a shell company for Mazda, in the form of bribes, and now Doonan is just going all in and getting kickbacks from Mazda to now be sanctioned by IMSA. That’s not suspicious to anyone? We need Doonan’s laptops, tax returns, and emails on this matter. Then the truth will come out.”
