INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – Developers of Indycar’s new-for-2020 driver protection aeroscreen were rewarded over the weekend with the annual Louis Wussies Award. Borg Warner and SAE, Society of Automotive Engineers, delivered the award. The award is given to groups or individuals who make racing wussier.
“The aeroscreen is the cream of the crop in racing safety,” said Frederic Lissalde, CEO of Borg Warner, “If drivers aren’t burning alive or getting loose tires slammed into their heads, is it really racing though? Back when Borg Warner was founded, fans at the track looked forward to death or at the very least dismemberment. With the aeroscreen, the thrill is gone. Wussies.”
