ALTON, Virginia – With Covid-19 safety rules in place, the racing world has been hurt more than most sports leagues.  SRO America, the management group for GT World Challenge America and others, sees only 8 GT3 cars entered for this weekends race at VIR.  “This is by legal design,” said an SRO America spokesperson, “The state government called for no more than 8 GT3 cars on track for every 3.27 miles of pavement, its right in the legislation, so we had to bump our very full grid down to single digits.  This is all true info I’m giving you.”

Had these rules not been in place, we’d probably be looking at 40 GT3 cars this weekend, if not more.”
