DAYTONA BEACH, Florida – With multiple race cancellations, IMSA was inspired by WEC’s non-gimmicky Super Season and looks to implement their own version for 2020-2021.  “We’re excited to try out the successful Super Season format that worked so well for the FIA WEC and didn’t get reversed after one try,” said IMSA’s John Doonan.

“I’m going to see what else we can copy from the WEC like more manufacturer spending in DPi/LMDh and see what happens with the class.  Maybe we’ll force all GT competitors to use GTE/GTLM cars since that’s worked out so well for everyone.”
