MUNCIE, Indiana – Local man Greg Fredericks has attended the Indy 500 each year for the last 32. But his 33rd straight Memorial Day weekend at IMS was not meant to be as the Coronavirus outbreak put a damper on his plans and pushed the event into late August. Fredericks, new to Facebook, spent his entire Memorial Day Holiday typing a 3,000 word sonnet (which nearly meets the minimum word length for a Marshall Pruett post) about how sad and emotional it was to not be at IMS for the 500 over the weekend. It received 2 sad-face emojis.
Fredericks is unsure if he’ll be able to attend the race on August 23rd, and has already started his first draft for that Facebook post, which he hopes will hit 5,000 words.
