INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana- Confirming DragonSpeed’s full season entry in the IMSA P2 class for 2020 with a ORECA 07 Gibson, team owner Elton Julian is hopeful his team can compete for overall wins and also pull out before the season is over which should be sometime in late summer. “A full season in IMSA has been the goal for a while now. The P2 class is looking much stronger going into next year, and DragonSpeed will be more than prepared to stop showing up after a certain point. Before we added this program we all sat down together and discussed expectations, challenges, and quitting before summer is over,” explained Julian, who has built DragonSpeed into a global brand that eventually stops showing up at races they are entered for. “If you asked me what would a perfect 2020 season entail, I would tell you that withdrawing at Road America and not showing back up would make this effort all worthwhile.”
Julian went on to state he is considering hiring more engineers with the goal of leaving the series right after Watkins Glen.
