TERRE HAUTE, Indiana- Expecting hesitation from both drivers and team owners, Mark Miles has asked teams for feedback on his plan that would have all 17 rounds of the NTT IndyCar series limited to the first three weeks in July. “My plan might seem a little ambitious once teams are presented with it, but both sponsors and shareholders believe this is the best way forward for maximum activation and cost controls,” insisted Miles, while getting his golf clubs packed for a round at Brickyard Crossing. “NBC informed me that with “The Steve Harvey Show” being cancelled and only running new episodes through June, IndyCar has been given the opportunity for filling prime gaps in their weekday schedule. This way we do not have to worry about competing with NFL, NCAA football, NASCAR, or reruns of Olympic curling.”
Miles said smaller details would be worked out later such as logistics and finding golf course with convenient tee times.
