GAYDON, England – Looking at the successful launch of the American-based Saleen Cup series, Aston Martin has announced their own single-make series starting in 2020 based on the Vantage V8. “We love what Saleen is doing,” said David Richards, Chairman and CEO of Aston Martin Racing, “They have a neat car they want to go GT4 racing with, so they started this single-make Cup series. Look at the business model – build a couple of cars far off of the claimed announcement numbers, then get some rich suckers to pay big bucks to drive a lap or two before it breaks down on a race track. There’s very little cost to Saleen, it’s all on the shoulders of those suckers who are renting the cars each weekend. It’s genius!”
