IRVINE, California- Hearing from a colleague on Tuesday morning that Rebellion Racing will not be entering their second LMP1 car for the full 2019-2020 World Endurance Championship season, RACERS magazine President Saul Tanner moved as swiftly as possible to add Rebellion to the list of prospective hypercar programs that will never happen but will provide articles speculating about it anyway for at least another year. “Rebellion withdrawing their second car from some of the WEC season really is not a big deal on the surface and would have only warranted a short article posted to our website, but when Rebellion CEO Calim Bouhadra claimed it was to focus on a potential hypercar program, I knew RACERS magazine needed to take swift action,” said Tanner, who started putting the entire list of manufactures feigning interest in hypercar together. “By my count there is BMW, Porsche, Lamborghini, Audi, Glickenhaus, Peugeot, and two or three more that are on record saying they have no interest, but we can still have fun adding them regardless. I can only speak for those of us at RACERS, but my suspicion is everyone else in our community is equally as excited that this will provide us all with cheap and easy content for a long time to come, and the best part is hiring an unpaid intern to just change dates and specifics from previous articles with readers not even noticing.”
