WEST PALM BEACH, Florida- Aware that time is against him before Dorian makes landfall, SCCA Florida Region member and autocrosser Joel Garcia was working as quickly as possible to nail plywood to his cones hoping they would be safe from the impending storm. “These cones mean everything to me. They were there when I met my wife, for the birth of our first child, and everything in between,” said Garcia, as he wiped away tears in between nails. “You know there is always a chance of losing everything you love and have worked for, but it’s not until it’s staring you in the face that it becomes so real you are not sure you can come through it unchanged.”

Upon being asked by his wife how he planned to save their house from excessive damage, Garcia said he did not have a plan and did not care about saving family photos and other useless shit.
