BRACKLEY, England- Sitting at his kitchen table and having a cup of coffee while deciding what to do with the rest of the F1 summer break, Valterri Bottas is also using his time off to think about all the drivers that could replace him in 2020. “Look, we all know this year has not really gone according to plan. Lewis needed some time to figure out the car and I made the most of it, but then it has all been downhill. Now I just sit around thinking about everyone that could take my seat for 2020,” said Bottas, who was using his morning to read the most recent rumors of his supposedly imminent departure. “Everyone knows that last year Ocon was hanging around the garage all season, but that ended up being premature. This year Verstappen was the first name mentioned, but that was never happening. Then it was Ocon again, and now I see there are rumors of Russell or Latifi, and there are even some fringe rumors about Perez, but I am not worried.”
When asked why he was not present for the team photo at Hungary, Bottas said he was just running late and not that the wasn’t invited.
