PARIS, France – Gerard Neveu, FIA WEC CEO, has reiterated that the WEC will go with Hypercar for their next top-level prototype regulations and have manufacturers spend at least 5 times more money to build and run said cars.  Neveu also confirmed that it is his goal for Hypercar lap times to match DPi 2.0 and race together.  “It’s simple.  We’ll build the expensive and Hypercar in WEC and IMSA will build the cheaper, more established, and popular DPi,” said Neveu, “Then we’ll level them out on the track, so they can race together. It just makes sense.”

Neveu then confirmed he has total faith in the Hypercar formula and this is not an admission that DPi is the smarter formula and he’s totally not worried about entries.
