BOWMANVILLE, Ontario – Jeremy Rippinger told his family that moving from South Burlington, Vermont, USA to the sleepy town of Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada would be an exciting change to their lives, but they had no idea how exciting it would be when the new residents went down the wrong driveway on Saturday morning and ended up in the middle of, and ultimately winning, the IMSA LMP3 race at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.  “We bought a nice little property on Mosport Road, but I hadn’t been here since the closing nearly two months ago and just missed the turn,” said a nervous Rippinger to race reporters, “So we ended up on this track I’ve never heard of and I just kept driving.  Somehow, which I guess is pretty common, all the LMP3 drivers spun themselves out and we ended up in the lead and I took the box truck home to victory.  It was a nice little welcoming party.  My family and I got to stand on the top step of the podium and spray my wife with champagne, which she loved after a long, hot drive in a moving truck.  She was already in a good mood, most wives are on moving day, and this was just the jewel in the crown.”

IMSA officials were asked why they allowed the race to continue with a box truck on track and keep the victory, but they just knocked over a bottle of water and ran away.
