FONTANA, California – NASCAR announced Sunday evening a ground breaking qualifying format where cars who drive on the track will be qualified in order from fastest to slowest for the race.  “It’s a bold move for us,” said NASCAR’s President of Competition George Walker, “Unlike most racing series, our grid will be set by the drivers going out on track and seeing how fast they can do a lap.  It will be interesting, but scary, to see.”

Always innovating, NASCAR will debut this new qualifying format at Texas Motor Speedway in two weeks time.
