SEBRING, Florida – With only PR1 and Performance Tech entered in IMSA’s LMP2 class for the Sebring 12 Hours, a last minute decision was made by team and race officials to set the qualifying order by a best-of-three Rock, Paper, Scissors match between Matthew McMurry (PR1) and Kyle Masson (Performance Tech).  Taking two out of three (rock crushes scissors and paper over rock) Matt McMurry took the pole for PR1.  “We’re trying to think of ways to reduce cost for the teams and reduce the amount of time fans have to see LMP2s,” said IMSA’s Race Director, “So Rock, Paper, Scissors, or Rochambo to some, is the new P2 qualifying procedure.”

It is being discussed by IMSA officials that instead of racing on track, the two teams may engage in a best of 9 arm wrestling competition made of one driver, one crew and one engineer to determine the class winner.
