DAYTONA, Florida – Looking to reverse a trend of declining ratings, Fox Sports took the bold step of hiring an actor you forgot about 15 years ago to narrate an awkward pre-race segment that was self explanatory. The actor, best known for playing Dr. Frasier Winslow Crane, was an inspired choice to bring millions of fans back to watching NASCAR. “My husband and I were about ready to hang ourselves from listening to Darrell Waltrip when suddenly we heard the voice of that guy who sang about scrambled eggs come on. We were hooked, and I imagine there were millions more just like us.”
To keep the momentum going to Atlanta, Fox Sports hopes to score another big name like Tony Shalhoub.
