RICHMOND, Virginia – Australian authorities have opened an inquiry into whether a controversial marketing strategy between Ferrari and Philip Morris violates their country’s policy of not advertising tobacco products. At the center of the debate is Ferrari’s new slogan ‘Smoking is delicious and good for you‘, which Ferrari and Philip Morris both deny is promoting smooth and flavorful brands of cigarettes.

While looking really cool and puffing on a Chesterfield, a media spokesperson from Philip Morris reassured the public there is nothing subliminal or otherwise in this new slogan, “We welcome any concerns the Australian Department of Health and Public Services might have about our alleged promotion of smoking. The idea that saying smoking is delicious and good for you makes people want to have a cigarette and have to deal with the side effects of being more popular and sexy is ridiculous.”
