MIAMI, Florida – In 2009 driver Nelio Bastroneves was acquitted of tax evasion and conspiracy charges after failing to pay taxes on millions of dollars he earned from his racing career.  Well with the partial government shutdown, the driver is thinking about evading again.  “I saw a report that the IRS will not be conducting audits during the partial government shutdown, so I thought this was a good time to dip my toe into the evasion game again,” said Bastroneves while giving a smile and a thumbs up, “My management and financial team are still in place and ready to pounce when I give them the thumbs up.  It worked out pretty well 11 years ago, so hey, why not?”

There are still three months remaining in this 2019 tax season, so it will be interesting to see what the driver decides to do.
