SPEEDWAY, Indiana — In an exclusive interview with Indianapolis Motor Speedway President Doug Boles, it was revealed that the entries for next years running of the Indianapolis 500 could either barely fill the field, or break the number for entries.
“The rumors on the blogs are true, we could see a huge surge in entries, or we could just get enough to fill the field,” Boles said in his sit down with The Lugg Nutt. “Bringing Bump Day last year may have lured teams to come over to try their hand to qualify for ‘The Greatest Spectacle in Racing’, or it may have scared some people off. Heck, we still don’t know if (James) Hinchcliffe is going to see if he can make it. Last I heard, he said it all depends on if the TPMS sensor he uses decides if they want to stay put or not.”
Some of the possible entries that have been mentioned include Buddy and Jacques Lazier, Milka Duno, Tony Stewart, Dr. Jack Miller, Vince Neil, Mario Andretti, even Ricky and Jordan Taylor. Confirmed entries include former F1 drivers Max Chilton, Marcus Ericsson, and some guy named Fernando. The full entry list comes out sometime after the new year, maybe before May, maybe after.
