BUFORD, Georgia – In an unexpected move, a championship winning IMSA team is planning a move to World Challenge and then regretting it. Blancpain GT World Challenge America, as it is now known, has seen a decrease in entries in recent years but hopes to make up ground with globally recognized branding and new teams joining and then regretting their entry. Team principal, Katherine Gaines, is excited about leaving IMSA then later regretting it, “Moving to the Blancpain GT World Challenge America will be something different for us. We will have more opportunities to race internationally and plan on regretting this move by the summer.” The SRO sanctioned series offers a shorter schedule that is expected to attract more GT3 teams looking to save money and then have regrets about leaving IMSA or not joining at all.
