SANT’AGATA, Italy – Lamborghini, makers of super cars such as the Diablo and Huracan, is a company loaded with sexy, high-powered street cars. The Italian Raging Bull also has a long and successful heritage in racing. From the GT3 Huracan program to the extremely popular Super Trofeo series, Lamborghini is always on the leading edge of sportscar racing. Continuing to grow the brand and customer racing programs, Lamborghini have now announced the launch of the Urus ST-X single-make series, an ugly-ass SUV racing series set to begin in 2020.
Lamborghini CEO, Macaroni Linguine, said, “We really had to up our game after Jaguar came out with that hideous i-PACE trophy series. After many designs and many crumpled papers thrown in the bin, we finally did it. We have created the ugliest, dumbest, most ridiculous race car that does not belong on a race track.”
Few details were announced about the series, but one thing is clear – during the process to create the Urus ST-X series, Lamborghini executives always discussed how they could do this, but never asked themselves if they should do this.
