SAO PAULO, Brazil — Following the news that Fernando Alonso will make his return to the Indianapolis 500 in 2019 with McLaren Racing, the Spaniard was overheard telling his crew “I don’t think I would be able to show my face if I end up dropping out of the race again, or worse, finishing in the middle of the pack.”  Alonso, who is going for the third jewel in the Triple Crown of Racing, led several laps during his first attempt at the Brickyard, but predictably lost his Honda engine near the end of the race, adding to the long list of mechanical difficulties for the Woking based squad in Formula 1.

“I hope someone gives us the special motors this time” McLaren CEO Zak Brown said. “I have hope we should be okay, but you never know, especially after we lost the motor last time. I just want to win the damn thing.”
